I paid the 5 bones to get a slashdot subscription recently and I'm actually pretty happy about it. Even though a big portion of the slashdot crowd ticks me off for being elitist, tech-geek, competitive jerk offs, it's still my favorite news site. The features, which mainly include turning off ads and getting "preview" stories that haven't been posted yet, are completely worth the miniscule price tag.
